Overview
Rahul N. Merchant is a seasoned operating executive and board leader with extensive global experience across financial services, technology, and the public sector. As a member of Ryan’s Board of Managers, he brings deep expertise in enterprise transformation, technology strategy, and governance, informed by decades of leading complex organizations and serving on public and private company boards.
Rahul most recently served as senior executive vice president and head of Client Services and Technology at TIAA, where he led large-scale technology, operations, and client service functions for a global financial services organization. He currently serves on the boards of multiple technology and services companies, including Kyndryl, Juniper Networks, Convergint Technologies, and Dallas Venture Capital, and has held board roles in organizations acquired by Broadcom, Oracle, CenturyLink, Hitachi, Thoma Bravo, and 3i. Earlier in his career, Rahul held senior operating roles at global financial institutions and served as New York City’s first chief information and innovation officer. His board contributions are characterized by strategic clarity, technology fluency, and disciplined execution in complex, regulated environments.
