Peter Kustec is a Principal in Ryan’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) practice, based in the Firm’s Montreal office. He advises Canadian-based companies on SR&ED strategy, claims preparation, and compliance, working closely with clients and Ryan colleagues to support innovation initiatives across more than 20 industries. Peter focuses on delivering technically rigorous, well-documented SR&ED solutions that provide clarity and confidence throughout the review process.

With experience spanning both public and private sectors, Peter brings deep institutional knowledge and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to client service. His background includes founding and leading an SR&ED consulting firm, as well as serving in multiple roles within the Canada Revenue Agency across audit, compliance, and SR&ED functions. Today, Peter applies this perspective to help clients navigate regulatory requirements, enhance SR&ED outcomes, and manage risk effectively. His leadership emphasizes clarity, practicality, and disciplined execution, ensuring clients receive trusted guidance and sustainable innovation incentives results.
