Matt Travis serves as President of U.S. Operations at Ryan and is based in the Firm’s Houston office. He leads the Firm’s U.S. Service Delivery division, providing strategic and operational oversight across Ryan’s practices. Matt works closely with executive and practice leadership to drive disciplined execution, consistent service quality, and scalable growth, ensuring operational performance aligns with client expectations and the Firm’s long-term strategic objectives.

With more than 25 years of state and local tax experience, Matt brings deep technical expertise and industry insight to his leadership role. His background includes advising upstream oil and gas companies on complex severance tax and royalty matters, including marketing cost deduction and post-production cost reviews, well incentive analysis, and tax reimbursement matters. Having served in both consulting and in-house roles within the oil and gas sector, he understands the operational and financial pressures clients face. Matt’s leadership emphasizes analytical rigor, strong advocacy, and the development of structured, scalable solutions that support compliance and improve financial outcomes across jurisdictions.
