Kelly S. Butler serves as a Principal in Ryan’s Sales and Use Tax practice, where she advises clients on complex, multijurisdictional transaction tax matters. She leads a large multistate practice supporting more than 50 clients and 150 engagements, delivering representation, planning, research, and education services across a broad range of industries.
Kelly works extensively with Fortune 500 companies in retail and restaurants, healthcare, food manufacturing, and general manufacturing. She is actively engaged in the profession through speaking, instruction, and advisory roles, including serving as an instructor for the Council On State Taxation (COST) SALT Basics School and as a member of the Texas A&M Finance Advisory Council. Kelly also contributes to Ryan’s leadership initiatives through participation in Firmwide development and talent advisory programs. Her approach combines technical depth, disciplined execution, and a strong commitment to developing talent and delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes for clients.
