Overview

Owen R. Evans serves as a Principal and Vice Practice Leader in Ryan’s Tax Compliance Services practice, where he leads the management and oversight of the Firm’s transaction tax and business license compliance outsourcing services. He is responsible for ensuring consistent quality, scalability, and operational excellence across multijurisdictional compliance programs, serving clients in a wide range of industries.

Owen brings extensive experience in transaction tax compliance, audit defense, and outsourced tax operations. He oversees a national practice of more than 360 professionals responsible for processing more than 500,000 tax returns and remitting more than $15 billion tax dollars annually on behalf of Ryan clients. Known for his disciplined, process-driven approach, Owen focuses on continuous improvement of methodologies, tools, and intellectual property to strengthen compliance accuracy, efficiency, and governance. He is actively engaged in the tax community through professional organizations, including the Chicago Tax Club, Institute for Professionals in Taxation, and the Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois.
