Overview

Mark Bennett is a Principal in Ryan’s Client Services practice and serves as Principal in Charge of the Firm’s Houston office. He is responsible for ensuring the consistent, high-quality delivery of tax services across multiple jurisdictions and works closely with clients to address complex tax matters with clarity, discipline, and precision.

With deep experience across fuels and excise tax, sales and use tax, and other indirect tax disciplines, Mark advises clients in manufacturing, utilities, refining, and exploration and production operations. His background includes both public-sector and private-sector roles, providing him with a well-rounded perspective on audit defense, compliance, and advocacy. Mark is also actively involved in professional development within the Firm, contributing to internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives, and he is a frequent speaker on tax topics for Ryan clients and professional organizations.

Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting, Texas A&M University

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Licensed in Texas

Completed specialized training from the State of Texas in conducting sales and use tax audits
