Overview

Jim Motes is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Ryan, where he leads the Firm’s global information security strategy and oversees the policies, operations, and governance frameworks that protect Ryan’s systems and data. Based in the Firm’s Plano headquarters, he directs enterprise cybersecurity initiatives, including incident response, threat management, digital forensics, and risk alignment, ensuring the Firm maintains a secure and resilient environment that supports client confidence and business innovation.

With more than two decades of experience designing and leading security programs for global enterprises, Jim brings deep expertise across cybersecurity operations, strategy development, and large-scale program governance. Prior to joining Ryan, he held senior security leadership roles at GameStop, Rockwell Automation, Perot Systems, Kohler Co., and Invensys, where he built mature security organizations and advanced enterprise resilience. Known for his disciplined, threat-informed approach, Jim focuses on strengthening security frameworks, aligning risk management with organizational goals, and fostering a proactive security culture that enables the Firm’s continued growth.
