Josh Cohen is a Principal and Practice Leader in Ryan’s Transaction Tax practice, based in the Firm’s Dallas office. He leads the Firm’s largest practice area, overseeing transaction tax service delivery for clients across the defense, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, service, technology, and transportation industries. Josh partners closely with clients and Ryan leadership to deliver disciplined, high-quality transaction tax solutions at scale.

With more than 23 years of experience in transaction tax consulting, Josh brings deep technical expertise and enterprise-level leadership to complex multijurisdictional engagements. As U.S. Transaction Tax Practice Leader, he oversees the largest transaction tax practice in North America, guiding more than a thousand professionals and advancing data-driven methodologies that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and client outcomes. His leadership emphasizes accountability, innovation, and consistent execution. Josh was recognized by the Dallas Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 honoree in 2018.
