Garry Winkel is a Principal and Practice Leader for Ryan’s Canadian Sales and Use Tax practice and is based in the Firm’s Mississauga office. He leads Ryan’s sales tax consultancy, advisory, and compliance services in Canada and advises clients across a broad range of industries on Canadian transaction tax matters, including goods and services tax, harmonized sales tax, Quebec sales tax, and provincial sales tax. Garry works closely with organizations to navigate complex compliance and recovery issues, supporting practical execution that aligns legislative requirements with measurable financial results.

With experience spanning professional services and senior finance leadership roles within multinational organizations, Garry brings a disciplined and deep operational perspective to transaction tax advisory. He evaluates tax matters through both strategic and execution-focused lenses, identifying process improvements tailored to each client’s industry, systems, and risk profile.
